Release time:2022-08-16 10:59:34      Hits:92

On the evening of August 5, according to Reuters reports, Google announced today that it would completely eliminate the carbon emissions during product transportation by the end of next year. By 2022, all products will contain recycled plastics.

Analysts said that Google's new commitment will further intensify the "green" competition among technology companies, aiming to show consumers and the government that they are curbing the environmental damage caused by expanding electronic products.

Anna meegan, director of sustainable development of Google's equipment and Services Department, said in an interview that compared with 2017, Google's transportation related carbon emissions dropped by 40% last year, mainly because it relied more on ships rather than planes, and transported mobile phones, smart speakers, laptops and other equipment from factories to the world.

Migan said that Google would offset the remaining emissions by purchasing carbon credits. Among the 9 Google products that Google has disclosed in detail on the Internet, 3 contain recycled plastics. Google promises to introduce some recycled plastics into 100% of its products by 2022.

Migan also admitted that Google's hardware business, which has just been established for three years, lags behind its competitor apple in some aspects of sustainable development. At least 50% of Apple's products contain recycled plastic. There are recovered tin in at least 11 products and recovered aluminum in at least 2 products.
